The SECURE Act has passed! The "Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement" Act, known as the SECURE Act, is the most significant retirement legislation since PPA 2006. SECURE is designed to help more people save for retirement, but what exactly are the changes? Join us for this NIPA webcast and find out what the SECURE Act means for retirement plans. In this webcast, Mike Coyne and Mary Giganti of Waldheger • Coyne will address the legislation's impact on retirement plans, including:
- Increased small employer access to retirement plans through pooled employer plans (PEPs) (open MEPs)
- Increased tax credit for small employer plan start-up costs
- Extension of date of adopt new plan
- Simplified 401(k) safe harbor rules
- Participation of long-term part-time employees in 401(k) plans
- Tax credit for auto enrollment
- Increased safe harbor cap for QACAs
